New Titles
I have been kicking around ideas for some new titles to reward players for in-game accomplishments not covered by the existing title base. Now the trick is to create a title that although allowing room for synergy with other titles, is not redundant with an existing title, i.e. I originally thought that a Boss Hunter title would be cool, the title to be earned for killing every boss on a continent, but that one would already be earned by going for Vanquisher, and most likely by the Elite Skills capping title. Also, I think titles should give players a new method or purpose to enjoy GW. So with that in mind, here are a few titles that I think might be interesting:
Quests – there are many non-essential quests on every continent and completing every single quest (with the exception of class specific ones) is a significant accomplishment.
PvE Hero Title – This title would be earned by gaining experience with heroes in the party. This will encourage players to use Heroes that they would not normally use. *Note: not leveling up the Heroes since some start at different levels, but focusing on rewarding the players for using each Hero.
Profession Title – Create an account based title for completing the game with each and every profession. This will encourage game replay and players to use professions that they would not normally experience.
Hunter – There are many species in the world of GW, and a good accomplishment would be to slay a number of each of these. While you can do it by slaying a number of each species, i.e. 100 Wardens, I think a much better way would be this: Most species have unique trophies, thus the task would be to collect a number of each trophy, much like real life hunters. Maybe credit it by exchanging the trophies with their respective existing collectors, or create a trophy collector specifically for the title.
Armor Collector - Purchasing elite armors is a significant accomplishment, why not make a title for crafting all elite sets?
Weapons Collector – A title based on Green items collected by a character. The way to implement this one would be to have a character customize the Green item to have it counted toward title. I like this one because of the significant impact it will have on the economy. No Green items will be “Unwanted”. *Note: By customizing the Green weapons, it removes that item from the market, thus affecting the supply of those items, increasing the value of the remaining green items. Also, customizing the items is in true spirit with collecting them (you cannot store every item in storage, so you need some way of saying this particular Green item is mine).
I would like to hear what everyone thinks? Are these good ideas, do you have more? I wish I could think of some PvP titles, but it seems that every aspect of PvP is already represented by a specific title, with the possible exception of Balthazar faction.

Imo the hero title would be the easiest to level up because heroes level up faster than the player. These titles are mainly based upon pve and theres alot of players that are pvp. For the weapons one..dont have the green able to be customized, that defeats the purpose.

- Quests. YES. This is a "MUST DO". The sooner the better. A great 'treat' for those that keep quests to farm. Yeah, baby. Indispensable.
- Hero. NO, sorry, no titles t treat those that use AI instead of partying with other players.
- Profession. NOT until they fix the grind titles so less is required the more characters you own. And making all Outpost/PvP titles, like wisdom, sweet tooth and such, account wide.
- Armor: NOT until they add a way to store all armor sets in each single character, even if they are stored without dyes and upgrades. Like having to pay crafters just once for each armor piece and getting those pieces for free since then. Ow... that would be a really cool, gold sink. Paying every single armor crafter for every single armor piece...
- Weapons. Don't know... Hm... there are way too many green weapons... and how would people keep track of which ones have they customiezed? Giving them to a Monument?

because people can farm certain things making the titles buy-able. and why have a title that says "i have wasted a ridiculous amount of money on armor that has the same stats just differnt skin and i have all of them"

The quest title would be nice since my main character has done all the quests in the game, well all the ones I could find at least. The problem is that new quests are sometimes added with game via updates, all be it rare these days.
Nice ideas but to be honest Guild Wars has more than enough titles and some with insane maximum ranks that only those people devoid of any life away from the computer screen will go for.

I've always thought there should have been a quests title myself, so have many others.
I also realy like the idea of the Weapons Collector title implimented by customizing greens. Would be good for market, and get rid of the bloated supply of greens.
/signed on those 2
The hunter title im 50/50 on, the best way to implement it would be to add a single NPC in multiple locations, sorta like the priest of balth for pvp. He would have a list of all the types of mobs in game, and would require a certain number of "trophies" from each family of mobs.
The others are a no go imo. But good ideas, dosnt hurt to be creative and get feedback

I like quests and hunter. However the hero one, for on it encourages solo play, two it encourages really weird party builds.
For armor we've got HoM, and greens, well. it's just another buy it title.

I only agree with the quest titles, we have enough as it is buy a title for quests should have been implemented from the start.

Quest title /signed
Hunter title is way too similar to Vanquisher.
All others are too much focused on mindless money-sink. There's not enough storage in the game to handle all that.

Grind + storage space issue for the last one. No thanks. Armor collector would only become feasible with the ability to store multiple armor in the same slot, or have more storage for armor. Neither option makes much sense. Plus, HoM already sorta acts like an achievement area for Armors.
Clever idea. I'd /sign on this for the reasons you listed. Storage space would become an issue, unless you would put them to use or junk them. Dunno if you can still sell to the merchant. Not important enough for me to go for though, many of the titles that exist + Questing would appeal much more than throwing money at nothing.

I love the Hunter Title Suggestion, Makes so many of those throphies that you get that cant be used for collectors, Eg Dark Claws from the Bone dragons in FoW. And it could be 300/500Trophies redeemed etc. Also Stuff like Mountain Troll Tusks will be easy to get and would be a problem, so be a cap on how many trophies you can redeem of them? So theres hundreds of trophies and can only redeem 100 of each? Dunno, Just a sugestion =)
